General information

The Toy Library caters for all children from 8 months to 8 years of age. In addition, there are some recreational board type games that are suitable for older children. We have been expanding our educational section for parents and teachers who would like to give their children extra support in Literacy and Numeracy.

Armidale Toy Library Inc has an extensive range of toys and educational resources including role play toys, musical instruments, CDs, DVDs, baby toys, construction sets, dolls houses, train sets, cooking sets, work benches for the handy child, bat and balls, push – pull toys, mobiles, cars and trucks, prams, toddler swings, sorting and sequencing games, puzzles, games, books and our larger toys, to assist physical skills include bikes, scooters, climbing frames, slides, tricycles, ride-ons, see-saws, trampolines and rockers etc.

We also have a parent Library which includes a variety of books on parenting and child development.

Social get together

We meet at the Toy Library monthly, for a meeting, which is really a friendly chat over a coffee. Every one is welcome to join us. For our next meeting details look us up on Facebook.

We have a very active membership of nearly 250 members, which include families and family day carers, playgroups, preschools and schools.

Casual borrowing is also popular, particularly with the grandparents.

The loan period is for two weeks if living in town, three weeks if living well out of town. Families are able to borrow a variety of toys, games, books puzzles or cassettes, CDs or DVDs per child.

Families can borrow 2 toys, 5 books and 2 media (CDs or DVDs) per child.

Groups (Family daycare, Schools etc.) can borrow 5 toys and 5 puzzles.

Who can borrow?

Membership is open to all and includes families, family day care providers, playgroups, pre-schools, mainstream and early intervention classes in schools, teachers, and UNE Education students.

Fees start from $35.00 for 6 months for families, $60.00 for groups.
